Latino For Better Health

The Latino for Better Health initiative was formed in January 2008 as a result of the collaboration of SAMA, Aetna and Hartford Hospital to help reduce the disparities in health care that exist in the Small Business Hispanic/Latino community.

Some of the agencies and organizations that have been involved in various projects of the Latino for Better Health Initiative in Connecticut include:

  • Aetna
  • Hartford Hospital
  • City of Hartford
  • Preventing Blind
  • Saint Francis Hospital
  • Faith Care

Health information has the potential to improve health and health care delivery for the underserved, with an emphasis on small business community and those who care for them. The supporters of Latino for Better Health elieve that all healthcare and information can be used to access trusted information, tools, and resources needed to make good health decisions and to access safe, high-quality health care.

SAMA invites you to attend our Health Fair and Flu Shot clinic, an informative day on health topics affecting the Latino community and the potential to improve health and health care management, as well as to support business owners empowerment among the Latino community, their family members and employees.
